What do the ME7 functions mean?

Short explanations of common Bosch ME7 tuning and file modification functions.

What is ME7.x Launch Control?

Launch Control is a motorsport-inspired function that helps hold the engine at a defined RPM while the vehicle is standing still or below a configured speed limit. On supported Bosch ME7 ECU files, the function can be configured with parameters such as launch RPM, accelerator pedal threshold, speed limit and optional switch logic.

What is NLS / No-Lift Shift?

NLS, also called No-Lift Shift, is designed for gear changes under full throttle. Instead of lifting off the accelerator during a shift, the ECU logic can temporarily limit engine torque or ignition behavior while the clutch is pressed. This can help keep turbocharger speed and boost response more stable during fast shifts.

What is Immo Off?

Immo Off means disabling the immobilizer function inside a supported ECU file. This is usually used for ECU replacement, test benches, engine swaps or repair situations where the ECU, key, cluster or immobilizer system no longer match. The ME7 File Tool can create an immobilizer-off flash file for supported ME7 dumps.

What is a checksum correction?

ECU files contain internal checksums that help the control unit detect corrupted or incorrectly modified data. After a BIN file has been changed, these checksums usually need to be corrected before the file can be used safely. Supported modifications in this tool include automatic checksum correction.

What is MAF scaling?

MAF scaling adjusts the ECU calibration for a different mass air flow sensor or housing. This is often required when larger intake hardware is installed, because the ECU must correctly interpret the measured air mass to calculate load, fuel and torque-related values.

What is injector scaling?

Injector scaling is used when different fuel injectors are installed. The ECU calibration must be adapted so that injection time, fuel quantity and mixture control remain accurate with the new injector size and characteristics.

ME7 File Tool is focused on Bosch ME7 ECU file analysis and supported online modifications for BIN files. Availability depends on the uploaded ECU file, software version and detected addresses.
